Gaya Wisniewski
I grew up in pencils and papers with two artist parents.
I have always loved making little books… This led me to study illustration at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels and then to become a drawing teacher.
At the same time, I led many workshops at the Wolf, a children’s literature center in Belgium, which reinforced my desire to tell stories.
After twelve years as a teacher, I finally embarked on the production of a children’s book. It all started during an internship with Joanna Concejo, she was the one who suggested that I draw first. She said “the story will follow” and that unblocked me! I came home and drew, drew… This is how Mon bison, then Chnourka, was born.
Since 2016, I left Belgium for the Gers, where I devote myself to illustration.
