Jacques Tati & friends: a look at the work of the director

A slender silhouette, pipe in mouth and umbrella in hand: the character of Monsieur Hulot embodied by Jacques Tati spans the years as its creator. “The great power of seduction of this dizzy great (…) is contagious!” puns David Merveille, illustrator and instigator of the catalog Tati & Friends (ed. Rouergue, 2010). Bringing together thirty illustrations from this catalog, this exhibition offers a nice ride in the funny and poetic universe of the filmmaker Jacques Tati. Thirty illustrators (Martin Jarrie, Nathalie Novi, Serge Bloch, Rascal …) and many gazes on his singular and timeless work that they pay tribute to.
